Description
The ocean was like a vast and unyielding mirror, reflecting the contrasting colours of the sky above and below. Blue. Grey. Two worlds as though divided by an invisible barrier, each in its own realm. The blue of the sky above, the grey of the depths beneath.
On one side the serene surface of the sea, an ever changing canvas of light and shadow, glimmering and shimmering in the sun’s rays. The air rippled around it like the shimmering wings of a dragonfly, the sun’s rays dancing across its surface like a million little diamonds.
On the other side the grey depths below, like a silent graveyard of dreams, uncertainty and fear. The depths of the ocean mysterious and unknowable, an abyssal abyss shrouded in darkness and mystery.
The two worlds so different on the surface, yet connected in a way that none could comprehend. A duality of nature an interconnectedness. The ebb and flow of the ocean’s tides, bringing and taking ever changing yet always the same.
The light and the dark. The sun and the moon. The calm and the storm. The blue and the grey.
Two worlds at once but forever connected in a mysterious unity.
And yet despite what seemed to be an unyielding balance between the two at times the contrasting colours of the sky and the sea seemed to blur together, as though the two were one, a vast expanse of azure and silver, a mesmerising haze of blue and grey.
A momentary reflection of what was and what could be, a fleeting glimpse into a world that had been and a world that could be. An evanescent reflection of the two, of what was and what could be, a momentary glimpse, a whisper of possibility.
The ocean seemed to capture and reflect the very essence of the moment, the reflections of the past and the promise of the future all rolled into one. A moment that could have been forgotten but instead was remembered and will live on in the stories and tales of the sea.
The ocean, a timeless and ever-changing reflection of all that is, was and could be. A reminder of the duality of nature and of the world around us. A reminder that even in the most seemingly impossible of places, there is a sense of possibility, of hope and of joy.
