Description

My brethren, I stand here before you as Jophiel the Avenging Angel, sent by the divine to smite the wicked and restore order to the world. I have been tasked with punishing this sinner for their misdeeds against the divine.

This sinner has flouted the laws of Heaven, disregarding the power of the divine and acting without respect to the Almighty. They have willfully strayed from the path of righteousness, committing sins and evil acts that cannot go unpunished.

But I do not come with vengeance in my heart. I come to restore justice, to bring punishment and redemption to the unjust. I come to offer the sinner one last chance to repent, to choose the path of righteousness and accept the divine judgement of their fate.

I come to mete out justice and restore balance to the world. I come to punish this sinner for their crimes, but in doing so also bring them closer to the divine. Let this be a lesson to all who defy the laws of Heaven and seek to do evil in the world. This is the punishment for those who break the laws of the divine.

Thank you for your kind words Greta. Jophiel though is one of the very few female Avenging Angels. I did a little reading about avenging angels before I started this piece because I wanted a female avenger. I did make her a little too androgynous I guess :)
