Description
The man sat at the bus stop in the middle of the desert. He was alone surrounded by sand and the sky a punishing heat shimmering blue. The sun beat down on him relentless and unyielding, he was a small figure in an immense landscape and he had been sitting there for what felt like an eternity waiting for the bus to arrive.
He had been too proud to ask for help too stubborn to give up. But still he couldn't understand why he had been stranded in this place with no answer as to when or if the bus would ever arrive. He had been there for days, weeks, months. The time had become a blur and all he could think of was the heat and the sand, the relentless sun and the emptiness.
He had been given nothing, nothing but a bus ticket and the knowledge that he was headed somewhere but he had been lost in the desert for so long that he was beginning to forget why he had wanted to go there. He no longer remembered his destination. All he had was this bus stop and the hope that one day the bus would come and take him away.
But each day passed and the bus never arrived. The horizon never brought anything but sand and the sun never grew any softer. He had nothing to do but sit and wait and hope.
So he sat there, his feet planted firmly on the hot sand watching the horizon and listening for the sound of an approaching bus. He knew that if he waited long enough it would come. He knew that in the end he would make it to his destination.
But for now he could only sit, a solitary figure in the desert waiting for the bus to arrive. He watched the sky, the sand, and the horizon, but nothing changed. He never saw a sign of life, only the sun and the sand, the same every day.
And yet he remained hopeful. He knew that if he stayed there long enough, the bus would come, he would make it to his destination, and somewhere in the distance, he could hear a faint sound that sounded like the hum of an engine. He knew it couldn't be the bus yet, but it was the only sign of hope in the whole desert. He clung to it, and he kept waiting.

A very stirring image and beautifully designed...describes life itself, which is all about patience!

Great story to go with the art. I know why he's there but I won't spoil it for everyone else. ;)
